Homemade Sweetened-Condensed Coconut Milk is thick and decadent and used in dessert recipes. Homemade is always better than store-bought. Use in all your recipes that call for Sweetened Condensed Milk as a dairy-free and refined sugar-free substitute. Use to sweeten and cream coffee at the same time. Or even drizzle it on ice cream, waffles, crepes, or pancakes.
Homemade Sweetened-Condensed Coconut Milk:
All in all, I make homemade sweetened condensed milk and have used it in several of my recipes on my blog. In fact, it’s about time to make sure this recipe has its own blog post. I have used it in my Coconut Pecan Frosting. Not to mention, that I can’t have any of the sweetened condensed milk or coconut milk on the market as they have refined sugar. Therefore, I took to the internet to find out how to make my own. Needless to say, I made it the day before. Then refrigerate in a canning jar. I found that it tends to get thicker once cooled. Cool before refrigerating.

What is Homemade Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk:
It begins by adding maple syrup to sweeten the milk. The water cooked off from the milk. Reduce by about half. The result is a thick sweet delicious substance. Thereby making this delicious concoction dairy-free, vegan, and refined sugar-free.
How to Make Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk:
Simply stir together the full-fat unsweetened coconut milk and maple syrup. Next, place the milk into a large pot over low heat. Cook on low for 3-4 hours being sure to stir every 30 minutes or so. Cook until the milk has been reduced by half and has thickened. The milk will take on a slight caramel color. Lastly, allow to cool and place into a sterilized glass jar or use immediately.
How Long Will It Last:
It will last in the fridge for up to a week. Of course, it can also be frozen for use at a later time. Freeze for up to two months. Just remove it from the freezer and allow it to defrost before use. Once it has defrosted I highly suggest pouring it into a bowl and whisking or blending with a mixer.
