So What? Send the train to Baltimore, Maryland via the former Pennsylvania Railroad "Port Road" and we will fill the seats on the train regardless of the passenger cars matching or not. You folks have been spoiled too long and folks around this area would dearly love to have a steam powered main line trip to ride.

They (NS) sold off their coaches after the completion of last year (2017's) excursions. The only 'matched' consists were the early days of the 21st century steam consists with the Mid America cars.

Norfolk southern won't have any steam excursions on their rails in 2018. What they will allow is for the VMT folks and the folks at the FWRHS to deadhead their locomotives over their system should opportunities present themselves to opperate elsewhere. Think past operations that 765 has done on the Cuyahoga or Metra. I think we will see some interesting stuff from the FWRHS in 2018. 611's operational future in 2018 seems a bit more uncertain other than the deadhead back to VMT this spring sometime. I could be wrong though.

I think what he means is that people who got to experience mainline steam in other parts of the country have been able to do so with some frequency compared to people in the north east where there has been a drought of such since the 1980s with the exception of C&O 614 in Hoboken/Port Jervis in the mid 90's. In other words he's upset CSX won't run excursions and is for whatever reason unable or unwilling to travel far from home which from what I gather is somewhere in or near Baltimore Maryland
